Join us for this truly unique and entertaining weekend of delicious food, history, literature and fun! The “Mark Twain-Stonewall Jackson Weekend” at the Elkhorn Inn with scholar/actor Doug Riley, who personifies both historic characters throughout our state for the West Virginia Humanities Council’s “History Alive!” Program, will be September 14-16, 2018! Mr. Riley will be “in character” all weekend, so you can ask both Twain and Stonewall any questions you like!
The “Mark Twain-Stonewall Jackson Weekend Package” for two people is only $550.00 plus tax, and includes two nights lodging at the Elkhorn Inn, two special breakfasts each morning, two specially-themed Chef Dan Dinners at the Inn on Friday and Saturday evening, and special performances & presentations by Mark Twain and Stonewall Jackson (Doug Riley) throughout the weekend!
Dinners only are $60.00 per person plus 15% gratuity and tax.
We need to make this event as successful as possible, so that more cultural events like this can happen in McDowell County! Please join us and share this with friends who may be interested in attending.
In conjunction with WV Humanities “History Alive!” and HEP (Highlands Education Project) McDowell, there will also be two FREE open-to-the-public performances by Mr. Riley at the Elkhorn Inn that weekend: Mark Twain on Friday, September 14th at 5:00PM and Stonewall Jackson on Saturday, September 15th at 5:00PM.
